Trend glass mosaic — Italian-designed, built for permanent submersion — zero water absorption, frost resistant, chemically inert, and rated Class C barefoot for slip. Pool blends held here in New Zealand and supplied nationwide to pool builders, architects and homeowners.
Why Glass
Permanent immersion, chlorine or salt chemistry, UV load, and a shell that moves with temperature and ground conditions. Most finishes are a compromise against at least one of those. Fused glass mosaic is the finish that was designed around all four.
Fused glass has effectively zero porosity. Nothing wicks into the body, so there's no vehicle for staining, efflorescence or freeze-thaw damage behind the finish. That matters more in a New Zealand pool than people expect — inland Northland, Central Otago and the Waikato all see frost cycles on unheated water.
Small-format tesserae on a flexible sheet will run around coves, radiused steps, spa spillways, beach entries and free-form curves without cutting the pattern to pieces. This is the practical reason mosaic keeps getting specified on architectural pools where a 600 × 600 tile would need to be nipped into submission.
Colour is fused through the glass body rather than printed or glazed onto a surface. It's chemically inert against chlorine and salt systems and it doesn't fade under UV. A pool finished in glass looks the same in year fifteen as it did on handover — which is the whole argument for spending more at the front end.
Semi-transparent and iridescent glass refracts rather than sitting flat. The surface shifts through the day as light angle and water movement change — the reason a blended mix reads with depth where a single flat colour reads as paint. Sample boards viewed dry will always understate this.

Installation & Warranty
A glass pool finish only performs as well as the system behind it. Substrate preparation, waterproofing, adhesive and grout all have to be specified together — and on a warranted job, they have to be the approved ones.
The manufacturer-issued system warranty is not automatic and it is not retrospective. Each job is assessed and approved before work begins — substrate, waterproofing, adhesive and grout all reviewed against the specification. We arrange and manage that process on your behalf; the warranty itself is issued by the manufacturer.
Substituting an adhesive or grout mid-job voids the cover. If a product needs to change on site, it has to be re-approved first — this is the single most common reason a pool job falls out of the programme.
Cover of up to 25 years applies to approved swimming pool installations. Standard dry-area installations sit under a shorter term of up to 15 years. Full conditions, exclusions and the claim process are set out on the warranty terms page.
